Finding your way

Your workspace opens on its studies. Projects collect related studies when you want a group overview or a combined report. Every study moves through the same four stages: Set up, Data, Results and Report.

The menu stays on the left on desktop. On a smaller screen, select Open menu.

  • New study from file at the top reads a results file and creates the study it fits. See import a file.
  • Studies opens the workspace home, with Studies and Projects tabs (below). Recurring work holds scheduled studies and follow-up, and Panel comparisons opens comparisons across several analytes.
  • Reports lists study reports and saved project reports. Its Binders tab combines selected reports in an evidence binder. See the Reports page.
  • Library has four tabs: Acceptance limits, Analyzer profiles, Materials and lots, and Imports and lot plans. Use them for reusable analyzer settings, saved limits, import formats and lot plans.
  • QC targets (QC export) turns analyzer QC exports into candidate QC target means. See QC targets (QC export).
  • Inside a project, use Project to switch projects or Project overview to see all its studies. The studies appear in a flat list. Studies started directly from the workspace use General studies; their menu lists those studies directly. Elsewhere the menu shows Recent projects.
  • At the bottom are Workspace, Trash, Settings, User manual, Contact and Display. User manual opens this manual in a new tab; Try example data loads example studies.

A Viewer's menu has no New study from file, Try example data or Trash. The breadcrumb at the top, for example Studies / Glucose verification 2026 / Glucose · repeatability, takes you back to the project or workspace list. A study in General studies links straight back to Studies.

Open Settings at the foot of the menu to manage the active workspace and account. Institutional plan shows coverage and links to the institution's plan; current institution Administrators manage billing there.

  • Workspace: the laboratory name that reports print at the top of page 1, your role, the institution, the account you are signed in as with Account and invitations and Sign out, your other workspaces with Switch to this workspace, and Create another workspace. An owner or administrator can Rename it.
  • Members: everyone with access, with their workspace role and last sign-in, and pending invitations. An owner or administrator can Invite a colleague; one who also administers the institution sees each member's institution role and adds a new address to the institution in the same step (Add and invite). See organization roles.
  • Storage and records: workspace use and the institution's shared allowance, with Open Trash to free space, and for an owner or administrator Download workspace records (workspace records). See storage.
  • Activity: for an owner or administrator, Workspace activity with Latest administrative actions. See workspace ownership and activity.
  • Delete: the Owner can Delete this workspace after typing its name. Delete my account removes your sign-in access and personal drafts after typed-email confirmation; institutional workspaces, saved records and subscriptions remain. Arrange administrative handover before the sole institution Administrator leaves. See recovery and activity. Deleted workspace records remain in verified backups until those copies rotate out.

These choices apply to this browser only. The account page has the same choices under Display settings.

Setting Effect
Theme Day (light), Dusk (dark) or System.
Text size, Density Larger text and controls; Compact or Comfortable spacing.
Legible fonts A typeface designed for legibility, for low vision.
Paper size for PDFs As stored (default) uses the report's own paper size. Letter or A4 downloads a copy on that paper.

For how these settings affect a report, and where to find a black and white copy, see the study report.

The Studies tab lists every study in the active workspace, most recently saved first, with its saved data count, result and next action. Select a row to open the study. Search studies, analytes, instruments or lots searches the study and its project details. Filter studies opens Analyte, Study type, Status and, when there are several projects, Project. Clear filters returns to the full list. Going Back from a study keeps your search and filters.

New study starts directly from the workspace. Its Add to a project (optional) section lets you choose an existing collection; otherwise the study goes into General studies. In a workspace with no projects, the page opens on Start a study; see choosing a study.

The Projects tab shows the most recently saved projects first. Sort it by Project, Last saved or Studies. Beneath each project name are its laboratory and analytes; select an analyte to filter its studies. A project with studies that need a calculation shows how many beside its name, for example 2 studies need attention; select it to open those studies.

The search box, Search projects, analytes, studies or instruments, searches project names, analytes, study titles, designs, instruments, methods and lots. You can combine words, for example glucose repeatability chemistry 2. Matching studies appear beneath their project with their saved data count, result and next action. Needs attention, beside the search, keeps only the projects with studies that need a calculation and lists those studies beneath them; it works together with the search.

Recently saved shows the three most recently saved studies across projects, including studies whose results are ready to read. Each shows when it was saved, how much data it holds and a link to its next step. The shortcuts disappear while you search.

At the top right of Projects are New study and New project. New study from file and Trash remain in the menu, which lists your four most recently saved projects; select more for the rest.

New study and Create from profiles are at the top right. New study from file in the menu creates a study in the open project. An empty project shows Bring your results with Import a file and Or choose a study first. Once it has studies, the project has two tabs: Overview and Reports.

The study list groups studies by analyte, most recently saved first within each analyte. Each row shows the saved title, chosen design, unit, instrument, method and lot. Designs distinguish reference interval verification from establishment, qualitative agreement from near-cutoff precision, and LoB, LoD and LoQ studies.

Saved shows the number of saved rows (entries for sigma) and the save time, or Signed and the date once the latest calculation is signed off. Result describes the latest calculation. Select a row, or the link at its end, to go straight to the work: Enter data (sigma: Add evidence), Calculate results and Recalculate open Data, and Add a limit opens Set up. A study with a current calculation shows Review results, which opens Results.

A project with more than one study has a search box, Search study names, instruments or lots, above the list. Filter studies opens Analyte, Study type and Status to narrow the list further. Clear filters resets the search and filters. Each choice shows how many studies it would list with the search and the other filters. Going Back from a study keeps your search and filters. Status offers:

  • Need attention shows studies that need a calculation (below).
  • Not calculated shows studies with no saved calculation; Results out of date shows studies changed since their calculation.
  • Current results shows calculations that still match the saved data.
  • Not met or undecided looks at the newer of the latest calculation and the latest signed report.
  • With signed-off reports counts any signed report, even one for an older calculation.

Open Project details below the studies for Edit project and, for an owner or administrator, Move to Trash.

The Result column shows one of these states:

  • Results not calculated yet: the study has no data, or has never been calculated.
  • Results out of date: the data or settings changed after the last calculation.
  • No acceptance criteria set: the last calculation had no limit to compare with.
  • Descriptive results: the calculation reports statistics without an acceptance decision, such as sigma without a minimum limit.
  • Criteria met, Criteria not met or Undecided: see About acceptance decisions.

Project report puts all of the project's studies in one report (prepare a project report). Study reports lists every calculated study with its result; Signed appears under the result once the current calculation is signed off, and Open report opens the study's Report stage.

A study needs attention when it has no calculation or its data or acceptance limits changed after the last calculation. Its outcome and sign-off don't affect this.

The study header stays visible as you scroll. Open any of its four stage tabs; each shows needs input, ready, done or out of date.

  1. Set up: the collection plan, study details, acceptance limits and calculation settings. See study setup.
  2. Data: enter or import results. See enter results in the grid.
  3. Results: the saved calculation. See calculate results and reading results.
  4. Report: read, download and print the report, and sign it off if you want the review recorded. See review, print and sign off a report.

At the top of Set up and Data, use Blank template (CSV) for the study's columns or Run this study for its bench guide.

The header has one main button. It names the next thing the study needs:

The study Main button
has no data Enter data (sigma: Add entries)
is missing a required setting Finish set up (sigma: Finish entries)
has no acceptance limit Add a limit
is ready, or changed since the last calculation Calculate results or Recalculate results
has an undecided result and no sign-off Review results, or Add a limit when a limit is missing
has a current calculation Open report

While your draft has unsaved changes, the header reads Unsaved changes with Discard beside it. More holds Save changes (Ctrl+S, or Cmd+S on a Mac), Discard changes, New study from this setup (choosing a study) and Move study to Trash (below). See saving and drafts.

A study opens at its next step:

The study has It opens at
A required setting missing, and no current calculation Set up (sigma: Data, where its values go)
No calculation yet, or changes since the last one Data
A current calculation Results, or Report once it is signed off

A link that names a stage, such as an address ending in ?view=results, opens that stage. Reloading the page or going Back keeps you on the same stage.

Reminders under the tabs name anything missing before the first calculation, such as analyte and unit. A Results out of date banner shows when your data no longer match the saved calculation.

Choose More, then Move study to Trash. The study and its reports move to Trash, where Restore brings it back for 30 days. After that it is deleted. If its project is in Trash too, restore the project first. You need the Owner, Administrator or Editor role.

  • Red error messages appear next to what caused them and say why something failed. Your entries are kept. Correct the named problem and try again.
  • Notices with a check mark confirm what just happened, for example an import.
  • A Viewer sees Read-only access at the top of every page.
