Set up analyzer profiles

  1. Open Library → Analyzer profiles and Add analyzer group. Name the group and enter its model if useful.
  2. Add each instrument, with its name and identifier. Instruments in the group share its analyte list.
  3. Add each analyte with its unit, display decimal places (blank for automatic) and export test codes. Choose its test category, discipline and result type.
  4. Enter your allowable error, reportable range, decision concentrations, reference intervals and manufacturer claims where relevant. Under Allowable error, enter a concentration allowance, a percentage, or both, or choose a sourced one (below).
  1. Open Materials and lots to save a control, independent reference material, verification kit, reagent or calibrator.
  2. Enter its name, lot and optional expiry.
  3. Give each assigned value and target range the exact analyte, unit and level it applies to.
  1. In Allowable error, open Derive the allowance from a published basis and pick a Basis.
  2. Fill in what that basis needs:
    • Clinical requirement: enter the laboratory's chosen absolute allowance, percentage, or both.
    • CLIA proficiency-testing criterion: choose the applicable numeric criterion in the profile's unit.
    • Biological variation: enter the applicable within-person and between-person CVs and choose minimum, desirable or optimum performance.
    • Achievable from peer precision: enter peer mean–SD pairs and the low-control SD, and check the multiplier.
  3. Review the candidate, choose Use this allowance, then Save profile.

About allowable error describes each source and how studies divide the allowance.

  1. Choose Create studies from profiles from the profiles page or from Start a study in an empty workspace, or Create from profiles in a project.
  2. Select the analyzer group, instruments and analytes. The studies go into General studies unless you choose a Project; Create from profiles in a project selects that project. In a workspace without projects, a typed Project name creates that project with the studies.
  3. Open Change studies for each test and adjust the checked studies. Initial selections follow the test category and result type; Why these studies explains the selection and its sources. Waived tests start with no studies selected. Select stability, carryover and dilution when those questions apply.
  4. Select any materials to copy. Use the Current reagent lot and New reagent lot lists to give reagent lots their roles. Bias studies receive compatible assigned values, and reference partitions create separate studies.
  5. Choose Review studies. Check the count, names, units, limits and materials, then select Create n studies, or Change selection to go back.
  6. Open each study's Set up stage, review its Collection plan and copied limits for your intended study, and finish any settings particular to that experiment before collecting or importing data.
  1. To change what newly created studies receive, edit the profile.
  2. To change one existing study's limit or target, edit it in that study's Set up. Copied profile settings there shows its export test codes, source material values and claims.
  3. To reuse instrument exports, create a saved import format. Test codes can be copied from the analyzer group's profiles.
