Reports and exports
From each study you can download its report, results, plots and the files you imported, and you can download the whole workspace's records to keep your own copy. The steps for reviewing, printing and signing are in Review, print and sign off a report.
Study report contents
Section titled “Study report contents”Page 1 is the decision page: everything you need before signing fits on one sheet, and the individual results go to the data listing. From top to bottom, it shows:
- Header: laboratory name.
- Title: analyte and unit, with study type and outcome beneath, such as Criteria met or Undecided. The instrument, the comparative method or lots where the study has them, and the study date follow.
- Evidence: the figures that show the decision (often two side by side, such as measured against assigned beside each result's deviation, with limits drawn as dashed lines) and one summary table with each row's result. Method comparisons give slope, intercept and bias at your decision levels with their confidence intervals and limits.
- Acceptance criteria: each question the study answers, with its limit, the finding behind the decision and the outcome. A linearity report names linearity, accuracy and reportable range. A question without a limit or claimed range reads Not evaluated.
- Study details: matrix, method, lots, design, the number of included and excluded results, and where the limits came from.
- Signature and date lines at the foot of the page, just above the footer. They stay on page 1.
Decision explanations appear directly below the acceptance or evidence table on page 1. Other cautions use a marker such as *1 on the outcome, a table or a value, pointing to the same number under Notes to page 1, the first part of 2 Study notes.
The data listing starts on page 2. The other sections follow:
| Section | Contents | Shown |
|---|---|---|
| A Data listing | Every row, included or excluded, with its source and a note on each excluded row. | By default |
| 1 Results | For a study with many levels, 1.1 Acceptance criteria lists every limit with estimate, limit, unit, outcome and the reason when a limit is not met or undecided. Then the supporting tables page 1 has no room for: per-level or per-specimen detail, intervals and further figures. Method and instrument comparisons and lot comparisons list each specimen's difference against its allowed difference (Specimen decisions, Differences by specimen or Specimen results). | By default |
| 2 Study notes | Notes to page 1 (the notes marked *1, *2 on page 1), then cautions grouped by level, then the sources of the acceptance limits. | When there are any |
| Supporting diagnostics | Extra distribution and study diagnostics. | With Include technical details |
| B Methods | Study settings, statistical methods, decision rules and display precision. | With Include technical details |
| C Audit trail | Data and criteria versions, Method IDs, import file checksums and the report-generation version. | With Include technical details |
The outcome on page 1
Section titled “The outcome on page 1”| Situation | Outcome |
|---|---|
| All limits that apply are met | ✓ Criteria met |
| A limit not met | ✗ Criteria not met |
| A limit undecided | ! Undecided |
| Limits that apply were not evaluated | ○ Not evaluated |
| No acceptance limits | ○ Descriptive results |
| Limits set, but none applies | ○ No applicable criteria |
The outcome comes from the saved calculation. Decision explanations appear below their acceptance or evidence table on page 1. The Results and Study notes sections give the supporting detail and other cautions.

Individual study file names start with the study title. Files of a signed report add its number, for example Glucose - analyzer comparability - signed report 1.pdf. With a signed report open, the CSV, JSON and plots under Other downloads come from the calculation it was signed off from.
Workspace records
Section titled “Workspace records”An owner or administrator opens Settings › Storage and records and chooses Download workspace records. Keep a copy outside the service after completing a study or making corrections.
The download contains the selected workspace's saved records and history, including items still in Trash. Unzip it to find:
records/workspace_activity.json: the full retained administrative history, covered by the ZIP's SHA-256 manifest.calculations/: each saved calculation as JSON, its study data and results-summary CSVs, and its stored report HTML. Recorded calculation corrections have their owncorrected/folder.reports/andproject-reports/: saved report HTML and previously stored PDFs. Each signed study report also includes the data and calculation it was signed off from.qc-workups/: the QC workups and their saved reviews.supplement/: analyzer profiles, schedules, lot/shipment events, panel comparisons and frozen binders with their PDF and archive files.imports/: tables as imported and the original files retained by the service.records/andstudies.sqlite3: the complete workspace records and their history;stored-files/holds other retained file content.manifest.json: file checksums and record counts.
The download makes no new PDFs. It includes no sign-in data or records from other workspaces. For an individual report PDF that has not been stored, use Download PDF on its Report stage.
The Reports page
Section titled “The Reports page”Reports in the menu lists every study's report and each saved project report in the workspace. Search with Find a report (study, analyte, instrument or signer), or open Filter reports for Project, Study type and Result (All results, Criteria met, Criteria not met, Undecided, Descriptive results or Not evaluated), each choice with how many reports it would list. Clear filters resets them.
Each row shows the study or report, the project, analyte, instrument, Result, who signed it and the date, with a PDF link. The study type comes from the report's saved design. A study's current report heads its row, with no signer until you sign it off. Earlier reports sit under earlier reports on the row. Select a study report to open the study's Report stage.
Use the Binders tab to assemble selected reports and their evidence.
Study data (CSV)
Section titled “Study data (CSV)”One line per entered row, including excluded rows, to check against the report's data listing. Columns include:
- the identifiers
Specimen ID,Level,Day,RunandReplicate, the study-specific columns, and the row'sInstrument Result as entered,Result after correctionandValue used, the number the calculation readExcludedandReason excludedSource file,Row in source fileandEntry order, which trace the row to its import file- on every line,
Unit,Data version,Number format,Study,Analyte,Matrix,Study instruments,Method,Assigned valuesandCriteria, a summary of the acceptance limits
A derived sigma study has one line per sigma entry, with TEa, bias, imprecision, sources and links to the source studies.
A text cell beginning with =, +, -, @, a tab or a line break gets a leading apostrophe so a spreadsheet treats it as text. Numbers such as -5.2 are written as they are. This protection also applies to the results summary CSV.
Results summary (CSV)
Section titled “Results summary (CSV)”Use Results summary (CSV) to transfer the saved calculation into a validation workbook. It covers every study type, including derived sigma, and exports the saved numbers at full precision.
The file is a long table: one named estimate, interval, limit or supporting result per line. Filter Section, Level, Specimen and Metric to find what you need. The named estimates come first, followed by acceptance limits and supporting details such as regression fits, dilution recovery, specimen agreement, material profiles and timepoint decisions.
Each line identifies the study, calculation, data version and Method ID. Value and Unit hold the estimate. Interval lower, Interval upper, Interval meaning and Confidence (%) keep confidence intervals separate from quantities such as limits of agreement or a supported range. Criterion, Rule, Limit lower, Limit upper, Target, Tolerance and Tolerance unit describe saved acceptance limits; Status and Reason keep their outcomes and explanations.
Zero is a number. A blank value with Availability set to unavailable means the saved calculation could not provide that quantity; partly available means only part of an interval was available. Read the saved reason. Availability is separate from the limit decision: an unavailable estimate cannot meet a limit. Counts and dimensionless quantities have a blank unit.
The latest calculation and a signed report may come from different data. Download from the report you intend to document; its results summary uses the same saved calculation as its study data CSV and JSON file.
Calculation file (JSON)
Section titled “Calculation file (JSON)”The JSON file contains the complete saved calculation. It includes the data version's rows, settings and acceptance limits, every estimate and interval, limit outcomes with reasons, study notes, method statements, sources, Method ID, findings, and the software and report-layout versions. Use it for full-precision numbers or to archive a calculation.
Report files
Section titled “Report files”- Download PDF: the report you are viewing. For a signed report, the PDF made at sign-off, whatever the view settings.
- Black & white copy (PDF): a monochrome copy. With Include technical details ticked it reads Black & white copy with technical details (PDF).
- Copy with technical details (PDF): for a signed report viewed with Include technical details, a copy with the supporting diagnostics, detailed methods and audit trail.
- Copy on Letter paper (PDF) or Copy on A4 paper (PDF): a signed report on the paper size chosen in your display settings.
- Signed report file (HTML): the saved report with embedded fonts for offline viewing.
- Print, beside the PDF button: your browser's print dialog. Choose "Save as PDF" for a file.
Include technical details adds diagnostics, detailed methods and the audit trail to the view, the printout and the PDF. To download it, use Download PDF, or for a signed report, Other downloads › Copy with technical details (PDF). If a download fails, see Report problems.
Method comparison, lot comparison, glucose error grid, PT/INR lot comparison and proficiency history plots, and the results plots of descriptive, repeatability, multi-day precision and bias studies, download as SVG or PNG. Each file carries a short study title, the result count, labeled axes and any interpretation needed below the graph. See Reading results.
Original import files
Section titled “Original import files”On Set up, open Imported files and select the file name to download the retained copy. It leaves out unmapped patient-identifier columns. A workbook copy contains only the selected worksheet and retained columns; table as imported downloads those values as tab-separated text. See Downloading the original import for how values and source rows are preserved.
The report's audit trail gives the retained copy's SHA-256 checksum, so you can match it to the report.
Project report files
Section titled “Project report files”A saved project report has its own PDF, color PDF, original saved PDF and saved HTML downloads. See Prepare a project report.
